What is Emotional Memory Recall?
Emotional Memory Recall is a gentle process used in mind–body approaches to identify and release unresolved emotional stress that may still be influencing the nervous system. Sometimes, past experiences—especially those linked to strong emotions—can remain stored in the body and continue to trigger stress responses long after the event has passed.
During Emotional Memory Recall, you are guided to briefly reflect on a specific memory while the practitioner monitors the body’s response. This is not about reliving trauma, but about observing whether the nervous system still reacts to the memory.
If a stress response is identified, appropriate techniques are used to help the brain and body reprocess and neutralise the emotional charge. The goal is to reduce the physiological impact of past stress so the body can return to balance and function more efficiently.
